And she does it again!

Hilary Mantel has won the Man Booker Book Prize for Fiction for the second time with her novel Bring up the bodies – I know that the news was announced a few weeks ago now, but it was just before we finished school for the half term break and we had a few things to tidy up before breaking up for the holidays…  Ms Mantel is one of only three authors to have won the prize more than once and the first to have won with a sequel to her previous prize-winner, Wolf Hall.  These novels  focus on the era of  HenryVIII, his court and the politics of the time, particularly the rise of Thomas Cromwell and his role within the King’s coterie.  Whilst fiction, they have been recommended to students of A level History as background reading for their course as they provide an excellent backdrop for studies into this troubled period in history.

In our library, we have a copy of each of the books shortlisted for one of the most highly recognised prizes of the literary world, so do come and borrow one or several:
